SWOT Analysis

SWOT Analysis

SWOT analysis - an analysis of strengths and weaknesses of the organization and the opportunities and threats from the external environment. «S» and «W» relate to the company, and «O» and «T» to the external environment of the organization. According to the results of situation analysis can be assessed, whether the company internally and resources to realize the opportunities and confront threats, and what internal weaknesses require early removal.

In my opinion, most importantly during the SWOT analysis as well as other research and strategic planning, it is not the crust of the diploma and the ability to think, the ability to look at your organization standing up challenges and problems "look the part."

If you are able to move away from their subjective assessments, and any personal assessments are always subjective, carefully go through the parameters of SWOT, evaluating them as if from outside the organization, taking on the role of potential or actual buyer / customer, competitor, just a bystander then you deals with the SWOT analysis. Special Education for the base version of the analysis is not necessary.

Strengths

Good facilities – functional campuses that offers a wide range of access to students

Location – near the motorway

Qualified staff and qualified first aiders.

Chesterfield College is well funded to achieve target of several outcomes

Weaknesses

Lack of public awareness – with funding cuts in education.

Reliability – Relies on schools to produce Higher Level students but many schools now have a 6th form

Opportunities

Advertising – improve the Chesterfield College website which means adding more about the initative.

Gain awareness – any sources to gain awareness about the college.

Partnerships – try and establish partnerships with regulated educational companies, e.g. change4life, sport coach UK etc.
Threats

Cuts – if funding receives further cuts, staff may be made redundant.

Strengths - There are several facilities that covers the whole aspects of chesterfield college such as joinery, sports, beauty, plumbing etc which enable the students to access a wide range of learning resources that they can use to help them achieve their capability. All of their campuses are very accessible with the main site and tapton being near the town centre & train station whilst clowne campus is next to the M1 motorway.
The staffs are equipped to provide their teaching and guidance + many of them are qualified first aiders. There are also security in place to provide safety of the students.
Weaknesses - There are lack of public awareness now that there are funding cuts which disables students to pay for their education and also disables chesterfield college to fund for advertisement and open day. There are many students now who opts to stay in the 6th form at schools which means the college loses out on potential students.

Opportunities - Chesterfield college can work with several initiatives and schools to promote the college (partnerships) and they can advertise those partnerships through the websites or processed documents.

Threat - However, due to the Public Spending Cuts, Chesterfield College cannot reach their potential and must cut down the wide range of variety service they offers.
